Looking out my kitchen window has been a fun adventure this winter. We have some new bird feeders and new birds to watch..Juncos, Chickadees, Stellar Jays, Lewis Woodpeckers and a Downy Woodpecker. Snow has been light and we have had an open winter...but that can change as March can bring a foot or better.
I have been busy working on our website www.livingrelaxedlifestyles.com and have several new birdhouses..check them out...there is one that is designed like Bullwinkle and other unique ones.
I also have a fun website www.herbcontainergardenbysyl.com. This is a blog that gives you various tips on growing herbs in containers and places to buy some great products. I will have one on vegetable container garden shortly. We should all go green and grow a little garden of some sort. Everyone here is starting seeds in the windows and getting things rounded up for planting green peas as soon as possible. Carrots and Spinach will be next, then beets and all the other cool crops. No one is quite sure where time has gone this winter, but it is winding down rapidly and winter coats and long johns will soon be replaced with just jeans and t-shirts, then shorts and Bar-b-Que..Yeah!!!
The chickadees above are painted on Brazilian Agate. These are great little birds and
come readily to the feeders.
This bird is a Pine Grosbeak and they are such a beautifully colored bird. This is painted on Amethyst Sage.
This is a different painting...Golden Retriever Pup on Green Quartz. We are having a Golden Retriever Convention in Pagosa this Summer..might say the "town is going to the dogs". This piece will soon be at Wild Spirit Gallery. I will be doing Bella my daughter's Chocolate Lab. It will be a fun painting as this little dog is super and likes to get in your face and enjoy you.
These little birds are Golden Crown Kinglets. They are bird is the forest you hear, but hardly ever see. They are not much bigger than a hummingbird and their wings are always moving. Next time you are in the forests hiking or just pick-nicking, stop and listen..
Well it is time to wrap this blog up and get started on another project.
I hope this finds all of you well and looking forward to Spring..God Bless
